MY TEACHER WAS A LION.
I've often shared the story of how I came to meet one of my favorite teachers and how it took me too long to understand that they had been with me and waiting patiently for me to realize their real presence. As an animal trainer on a movie set, walking through the woods one summer day, I was completely lost in my own scattered thoughts of stress and anxiousness. I kept searching for some sort of sign — answers to all my "important" questions. Then, in an unforgettable moment of quiet contemplation, I glanced down to realize...I had been strolling through the woods with a gigantic lion at my side the entire time.
Yes...a lion.
It was with this powerful realization that I finally understood a powerful lesson and began a new journey in my relationship with animals and their ability to communicate, teach, and guide us...if we will but listen to what they have to say.
